Water Bills

ever on keeping them down.
"First,
since this is a book, let me tell you some stories/nightmares
of tenants abusing water. All of these stories in one way or another
helped us come up with different strategies in preventing high
water bills. Strategies that I believe are the best in the business!..."
"We
started in the bathroom and found no leaks, went down the basement
and found no leaks. Last but not least was the kitchen. Again,
no leaks. One thing Nick
noticed was the whole time we were checking for the “phantom
leak”, the woman stood in front of the back door. Just before
we were about to leave, Nick asked
her to move out of the way so he could check out back. “Everything
is fine out back,” she promised. Nick walked into the dining
room and looked out back into the yard. Whatta ya know! The woman
had a rubber pool as big as the yard. No filter on it, she would
just dump it when it got dirty and fill it up the next day. Why
not? She thought Uncle Mike and Uncle Nick were paying for it.
That was the last pool that anybody filled up in our back yard.
What did we do?..."
"Since
Mrs. Green is already giving me excuses, I know she is covering
something up. It’s time to put on my Sherlock Holmes hat
and trench coat and go investigate again. What am I going to find
this time? Another pool? Carwash? Has my tenant opened up the
world’s largest aquarium? No – how about a Laundromat!
That’s exactly what she was running..."

wonder what came first, the washboards or their washer..."
