Painting
What
to paint, what not to paint, and what to paint with.
"Anything
that has a natural wood finish like doors, paneling, cabinets,
railings, etc., don’t paint. Leave them just the way they
are. Section 8 inspectors look for chipping or peeling paint and
will fail you the second they find it. The first time you paint
something, everything is fine and dandy. The inspector comes out,
the paint is fresh and new, and you pass with flying colors. A
year later, the inspector comes out and the stained bedroom door
you wasted your time painting looks like it’s been through
hell. The paint is chipping and peeling from top to bottom. Guess
what, you just failed your annual inspection..."
